We regret that we do not consider work for publication that has previously
been self-published.
We welcome submissions from new writers and established authors.
Please contact us first by email or in writing, briefly outlining your
proposed book idea. If you would like clarification on our submission
process, please use the contact form. At this stage, all we need to know is:
- Information about the author – name, age, gender, writing experience
(tell us if this is your first MS) and
full postal address and daytime phone number.
- Information about your book – title, log-line, brief description of the
plot or a "contents" list for non-fiction, word count, short
chapter-by-chapter summary. BIC subject and target age group.
- Other important information, for example, are you represented by, or intend
to be represented by, a literary agent? If you are a published author, a
list of relevant publications (include: ISBN, publication date and name of
the publisher).
- How you found us and why you wish to be published by Burn-a-Book
publishing.
What we publish:
We prefer non-fiction that is instructive (how-to-do books, true survival stories, self-help/self-improvement, Christian encouragement, hobbies and pastimes, travel, health, sport and physical fitness).
We are willing to consider most fiction, with the exceptions of science fiction, fantasy
and "Adult" fiction.
We do not publish:
- Poetry;
- short stories (fiction under 80,000 words) or manuscripts over 160,000 words long;
- collections of short stories;
- dissertations;
- history;
- children's books (under teenage readership);
- non-Christian literature;
- management text books;
- books heavily illustrated in colour;
Important:
We refuse work that may be construed as racist, sexist, harmful to others, or containing gratuitous violence or gratuitous sexual descriptions. We do not accept work that contains any pornographic illustrations or photographs.
Please make sure your book fits one of the categories we publish before
contacting us.
Please do not send us your full MS unless we ask for it.
Please do not send attachments with email enquiries; include all your information in the body text. Attachments are
automatically removed by our spam filter.
